Kimchi Cream Pasta

1/31/2021
This dish is one of our favorites whenever we go out to eat in Koreatown. Luckily, it’s so quick and easy to recreate at home! This dish is savory, creamy, and has just the perfect amount of spice. The best part about this dish is that it requires few ingredients and is so customizable- you can use whatever meat or noodle you have on hand!

Ingredients

1/2 Spaghetti (box)
1 cup Kimchi
3 Bacon (slices)
5 Garlic (cloves)
1 Scallion (stick)
3/4 cup Heavy cream
Black Pepper (to taste)
Salt (to taste)
Red Pepper Flakes (to taste)
Parmesan cheese (to taste)

Directions

1. Cook your pasta in salted water until it is cooked through.
2. Cut kimchi into smaller pieces. We used store-bought kimchi but if you have homemade kimchi, even better! We used about 1 cup of kimchi but use as much as you like.
3. Chop bacon into smaller bite-sized pieces.
4. Mince garlic.
5. Chop scallion for your garnish later.
6. Add bacon to a heated pan and saute for 2 minutes.
7. Add minced garlic and stir until aromatic for 2 minutes.
8. Add your chopped kimchi and stir for an additional 3-4 minutes. It’s going to smell so good in your kitchen at this point!
9. Turn your heat to medium-low and add heavy cream.
10. Stir and let the sauce simmer for 2 minutes.
11. Add your pasta and mix to make sure your pasta is evenly coated. Add cheese, salt, and black pepper to taste.
12. Garnish with scallion, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and more cheese. Now it’s time to serve and eat!
